To get qualified and shortlisted for the vacancies, candidates have to go through each stage of the selection process as discussed below. 

  1. Written examination (Computer Based): There will be 80 Multiple Choice Questions with 2 marks each and a negative marking of 0.25 marks, The duration to complete the exam is 60 minutes (1 hour) with no sectional timing.
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST).
  3. Medical Test- The last stage of the selection process which is mandatory to check whether the selected candidates are medically fit or not. After the medical test, the candidates shortlisted will have to appear for document verification.

SSC GD Constable Tier 1 exam will be conducted online mode, multiple-choice-based exam. The CBT test consists of 4 sections with 80 questions in total for a time duration of 60 minutes. There is also a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. The Computer Based Examination (CBE) is conducted in English, Hindi and 13 Regional Languages viz. Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.

The candidates who score more than the cut-off marks for the SSC GD Online exam will be eligible to appear in the Physical Efficiency Test for which the standards have been set by SSC.
